Conversion of low-value stands by corridor method in Left-Bank Forest-Steppe, Ukraine

Abstract The aim of the study was to identify influence different widths and cardinal directions felled corridors on condition mensuration characteristics English oak trees planted there during conversion low-value young stands using corridor method. carried out in forests forest-steppe zone at a permanent sample plot. experiment included 8-year-old stand improve its species composition. plots were laid fertile hardwood forest site. realised by felling various (6, 9 12 m) planting ( Quercus robur L.) within them rows. For oaks, tending three times: weeding (8 years), cleaning (13 years) thinning (32 years). A comparative analysis (average height, diameter, growing stock, radial increment, health condition, etc.) for 32-year-old grown part unfelled strips after felling. It found that average height diameter breast oaks 6, m wide did not differ significantly. difference stocks 6 also insignificant. stock differences statistically significant as well ones. article made recommendations width effectively convert
